Then drive to Aberdare National Park and through the afro alpine moorlands looking for highland species like: Hartlaub's Turaco, Scarce Swift, Crowned and Silvery-cheeked Hornbills, Abbott’s, Sharpe’s, Slender-billed, Kenrick’s and Waller’s Starlings, Dusky Turtle-dove, ABERDARE CISTICOLA, Jackson’s and Scaly Francolins, Hunters Cisticola, Mountain Buzzards, Abyssinian Crimsonwing, Alpine Chat, Scarlet-tufted and Malachite Sunbirds among other Montane species.
We head down to the Kinangop highlands in search of Long-tailed Widowbird, Capped Wheatear, Wing-snapping and possibly Levaillant’s Cisticola, Black-winged Plover as well as SHARPE’S LONGCLAW.
En route to Nairobi we will enjoy a brief stopover at Limuru Ponds to pick up a few water birds. The highlight here includes White-backed, Maccoa, White-faced Whistling Ducks, Hottentot and Red-billed Teals among other common water birds.

This makes for a wonderful birding extension to a full safari itinerary or a perfect day trip for anyone with a short stay or stop over in Nairobi.
