Springtime in the Grand Tetons and Jackson Hole is a time when life does not so much as thrive as it does explode. With only a three month growing season, the natural community has precious few weeks to get down to business before the mercury begins to fall again. Wildflowers bloom in a riotous profusion. Elk, bison, moose, mule deer, and pronghorn produce a deluge of young babies across the valley floor seemingly all at once. Great horned and great grey owls begin to reveal the locations of their nests, while short eared owls hunt the recently thawed sagebrush flats. Long-billed curlews arrive, and sage grouse begin to drum. Wolves are still hunting in coordinated packs and bears are making their way into the valley for easy picking. All the while the Teton Range looms above, still encapsulated in deep snows.

- MEALS: Although we will eat as a group, meal costs are not included.
Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrive in Jackson Hole and check into hotel.
We will meet this evening for dinner and a meet and greet. Here we will also discuss the coming week, photography strategies, logistics, and expectations.
Day 2 – Southeast
This first day we will concentrate our time and energy in the south eastern section of Jackson Hole which will include the National Elk Refuge, Grand Teton National Park, and Bridger-Teton National Forest. Key areas will include Mormon Row, Antelope Flats, the Gros Ventre River and Mountains, and Shadow Mountain. This first day will provide us with a classic Jackson Hole and Grand Teton experience. Stunning landscapes with sweeping vistas of the Tetons, classic images of the old Mormon barns and cabins with the Tetons in the background, bison and calves, pronghorn, moose, big horn sheep, wildflowers galore, and several lesser known areas of the valley that are a treasure trove of images waiting to be created.
Day 3 – The Snake
On our third day, we will start the morning off with a breathe taking sunrise shoot of the Tetons with reflections in the Snake River. Afterword, we will make our way to the northern section of the valley to begin a float trip down the Snake River in search of moose, bears, bald eagles, elk, and a unique perspective of the region unseen by 99.99% of photographers!
Day 4 – The North
Our fourth day will start off at the northern end of the valley at Oxbow Bend for another classic sunrise. We will then venture off into lesser traveled areas in search of wildflowers, macro photography, bears, wolves, elk, and scenics.
Day 5 – Moose Wilson and the steps of the Tetons
We will begin our morning along this wildlife hotspot that provides us with some of our best opportunities for black bears and classic images of moose wading out in the water to feed as well as elk calves in aspen groves. This day will be somewhat flexible and depending upon weather and other wildlife sightings that we receive from our biologists contacts in the park, we could end up anywhere this day!
Day 6 – Jenny Lake and Waterfalls
We take a boat ride across Jenny Lake to the Cascade Canyon for a half mile hike to Hidden Falls. This will depend heavily upon the group and the snow pack up in the Tetons. This excursion is saved for our last full day of photography so as to allow people to acclimate to the altitude and thinner oxygen levels before pushing off onto a hike. After Cascade canyon, we will have another X factor afternoon, deciding to shoot where given conditions allow for the best opportunities.
Day 7 – Half Day Shoot / Go Home
Depending upon people’s flights, we may choose to spend the morning photographing the sunrise at a new location previously unseen on this trip. From here, we will say our farewells and depart out separate ways!
